Letter upon letter, email upon email, Our long awaited set down area is finally ready for parents, dropping off and collecting at Bright Sparks. A huge thank you to Cork County Council for developing this set down area outside of Bright sparks which will hopefully make life much easier in the mornings and evenings for busy Moms and Dads. We would also like to express our gratitude to surrounding residents and road users for their patience and cooperation.
Yesterday was a magical day for all our children and staff in Bright Sparks, as we created our very own Christmas movie. Inlight of these challenging times it is unfortunate that we are unable to allow our families and friends come into our school to share the christmas spirit. This year we had to comprise and to do this we created a movie that would allow our friends and families get an insight into our school lives as we prepare for Christmas. Each class shared their very own special performance which they had been rehearsing for weeks, we had lots music, singing and dancing to spread the christmas cheer. We hope our families and friends loved our Christmas Movie just as much as we did.
After long awaited months of drilling and banging the new nursery wing at Bright Sparks finally opened its doors and welcomed all its eager babies. The nursery team got a well needed and deserved, complete makeover of the nursery in Bright Sparks, with a newly constructed extension to the rear of the school flooded with natural light and lots of space for roaming and crawling.
The babies now have the luxury of their own equipped Astro Turf courtyard to enjoy the fresh air and outdoor space everyday. The wing also includes a nappy changing room, a bottle station and kitchen as well as their very own sleeping room. Two weeks into the big move our babies and nursery team are still beaming with all their space and light. We would like to say a huge thank you to our family builders, Kelly Carpentry, and all else involved in getting our new wing ready, you did a super job!
Delighted to have our first week with all our children back in Bright Sparks. My goodness the week flew and for some it was like they were never away. Lots of funny stories so no secrets when they come to Bright Sparks guys !! We hear it all and keeps us entertained .... thank you so much for the co operation of dropping children and collecting. It is working well for the moment, As you know we are starting our " new room ". Unfortunately it was delayed starting due to Covid Restrictions but we are now on track and fingers crossed we will get cracking on. Kelly Carpentry are onsite and will be working away for the duration of the summer. It wont affect our day to day running of Bright Sparks as our nursery for the summer weeks has moved to another room. We will have an area out the back not available to us for the summer but thankfully its fenced off and does not affect us too much, as we are all in our own play areas. The reopening of childcare has been incredible and a huge team commitment at all times. Our staff are super and as you can imagine constant cleaning and sterilising of different equipment is necessary to ensure the readiness of the play areas each day. We ask that children are collected each day by 5.30pm. For a lot of the children after their first week back they may be extra tired from the routine and being back at creche again. Certainly parents are finding the sleep patterns are returning this week too. We are monitoring closely all activities of daily living for children and reporting back as necessary to our officials. If you need to contact us please do so via the childpaths or by email. We will be sorting the school uniforms over the next week for ECCE Classes for September. We will confirm details next week. Uniforms are not compulsory but are available. They will be comfy for the children and easy for toileting ! They are like the ONeill tracksuits so very quick to dry after washing. All tracksuits will have the childs name on them too so no gear will be mixed up ! So more details on price and colour next week. Again we thank you for your co operation at all times.
Dear parents, as you all know we are preparing to re-open on June 29th. We are delighted for parents that childcare is being prioritised. Our staff are back on Monday 15th and we will be preparing our rooms, we are really looking forward to getting back to our new normal. A lot of our policies will remain as per Health and Safety and we will as always maintain our very highest hygiene standards. At present we are currently looking at our play and interaction activities that will be our priority on return as children have been apart for so long. We will be taking every necessary steps to resume to normal play and fun and children will enjoy being back together. One of our main priorities for the summer will be regaining the positivity of play for all ages.
